Card Making Project - Lilac Flowers Card

If you like a 3D effect on cards but haven't the time for all the building up of layers associated with decoupage then choose decorative stickers (available from CardCraftsite on amazon.co.uk). Decorative stickers are easy to use and a good choice for beginners - simply peel the decorative sticker of your choice away from the backing paper and stick down onto your card.

To make this card you will need:
 A4 Smooth Bright White 280 gsm card cut and creased to 148mm x 148mmPiece of Smooth Bright White Card cut to 80mm x 80mmPiece of Lilac Glitter Card cut to 90mm x 90mmPoppies and Pansies Decorative StickersHappy Birthday Tags Embellishment Pack6mm Double-sided tape or Photo GlueSilcone Glue |

This is a simple card, suitable for a beginner, where the card and decorative sticker are matted and layed in the upper part of the card and the sentiment placed underneath.
The following operation is not essential but it will help the smooth white card stick to the glitter card better - glitter card is notorious for its poor adhesive qualities on the glitter side.
Before gluing the pieces together, place the square of white card against the glitter card and work out where the glue is going to be once the white card is adhered to the glitter card. Take an emery board and rub the some of the glitter from the glitter card. in these spots.
Using double sided tape or photo glue adhere the lilac glitter card to your card blank.
Peel off the decorative sticker and place on the square of white card (decorative stickers are self adhesive so no glue needed). Apply some silicone glue to the back of the piece of square white card and position on the square of lilac card so that there is an even border all the way around.
Peel off the butterfly decorative sticker and place in the top left hand corner overlapping both squares of card.
Add your sentiment. The tags sentiments come already decorated withsmall gems. If you are using a differnet sentiment, e.g. a one from a foiled sentiments sheet, add 4 clear self adhesive gems - one in each corner of the senyiment - to finish off the card.
Leave for the silicone glue to dry.
