Card Making Project - Gold and Cream Embossed Christmas Card
Made by Irene

The embossing of the background and the village die cut, together with the gold ornate border, makes this a luxurious card.

To make this card you will need:

A3 Cream Hammer Card cut and creased to 198mm x 198mm
A4 Cream Linen Card
A4 Matt Gold Card
A4 Stardream Antique Gold Paper
Die Cutting Machine such as the Cuttlebug, Xcut Xpress, or Big Shot
Kars Cut & Emboss Mat (if using Big Shot or Cuttlebug)
Sizzix Texture Impressions Pad (if using Big Shot or Cuttlebug)
Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Sixteen
Marianne Creatables Village 1
Embossing Folder Budding Vine
Woodware Crafty Edger
Antique Floral Cassette
Peel offs – Merry Christmas Large - Gold
Peel offs – Narrow Borders – Gold
Peel offs – Straight Lines and Corners - Gold
Photo Glue

Cut two pieces of Stardream antique gold paper measuring 198mm in length and using the crafty edger with antique floral cassette punch along one side of each strip. Stick the Stardream Antique Gold borders to each side of the card using photo glue.

Cut a piece of cream linen card measuring 125mm x 145mm and using the embossing folder Budding Vine, run the card through the embossing machine, ensuring that the embossed section is in the centre of the piece of card with even borders either side. Attach this to the centre of the card using photo glue and add gold straight lines to each edge, and gold narrow borders either side of the embossed section.

Using the largest of the Nestabilities Labels Sixteen dies run a piece of the matt gold card through the die cutting machine.  Repeat this process using a piece of cream linen card and the next size down of the Nestabilities Labels Sixteen dies.

Using photo glue stick the matt gold die cut to the centre of the card and then the smaller cream die cut on top of this.

Using the Marianne Creatables Village 1 die, run a piece of matt gold card through the die cutting machine to cut it and then again using the Kars Cut and Emboss Mat to emboss it.

When embossing the card, the "sandwich" of plate, die, card and embossing mat will vary depending on the machine being used.

For the Big shot it should be:
Multipurpose Platform (thin die adapter down) or Solo Platform
Cutting Plate
Die with Card in
Kars Cut and Emboss Mat
Sizzix Texture Impressions Pad

For the Cuttlebug:
Plate A
Plate B
Die with Card in
Kars Cut and Emboss Mat
Sizzix Texture Impressions Pad

If using the Grand Calibur:
Base Plate
Die with Card in
Tan Mat
Embossing Plate

Once cut and embossed stick the die cut to the centre of the card using photo glue.

Complete the card by adding Christmas sentiments to the top of the card.
