Card Making Project - Flowers and Frame Birthday Card
Made by Madeleine
This pretty card is made using papers from the Prima Meadow Lark paper stack. The great thing about the Prima paper stacks is that they contain designs that are designed to work together. The card is given extra dimension by creating a drop shadow on the frame using a piece of card from the Coredinations Tim Holtz 12 x 12 cardstock. This is also an economical card to make as it is basically 2 sheets of paper from the stack that work about 10p each. The pink flower and the birthday sentiment were left over from an earlier project - the Bouquet of Blooms card. Madeleine used Cryogen White card for the base card but if you have a pack of the 50 148 x 148 cards and envelopes pack you can substitute a card from that pack as your base creased card.
You will need a die cutting machine to make this card.

Take a sheet of the large flowers in urns paper from the Prima paper stack and trim to 148 x 148mm. Glue onto card using photo glue.
Take the sheet of small urns and flowers pattern from the paper stack and, positioning it on the frame die so that the urns appear in the centre, run it through the die cutting machine.
Cut a piece of the Dusty Concord cardstock so it is a little larger than the frame die and run through the die cutting machine.
To create the drop shadow, glue the printed card frame onto the dusty concord frame so that the dusty concord cardstock just shows to the right and below. The best glue to use for this is photo glue as, being repositionable, it allows you to slide the top card so that just the right amount of the underneath card shows. Leave for a few seconds to dry.
Using 3D foam pads 10mm square, or Pinflair glue, attach the frame to the right hand side of the card leaving enough room at the bottom for the sentiment. If using Pinflair glue you will need to leave the card for the glue to dry.
When the glue is dry, or if you have used 3D foam pads, add a pink Kaisercraft bloom to the bottom left of the frame. Wind the small stalk around the loop of the frame and add a good dollop of photo glue to the bottom of the flower. Tuck the remainder of the stalk under the flower and press the flower lightly on the card. Leave for the glue to dry.
Attach the sentiment to the bottom right hand corner using 3D Foam pads 3mm thick or Pinflair glue.
It is only in the amount of time that must be left between stages for the glue to dry that makes this card is time consuming. Using foam pads rather than Pinflair glue will quicken the process but Pinflair glue does allow repositioning.
