Card Making Project - Mermaid and Shells Easel Card
Made by Madeleine
This bright and colourful easel card makes a great birthday card for a young girl. The scallop edge of the die cut backing sheet reflects the scallop edge of the shell shaped card topper. This is a card that's full of summer fun. You will need an 8 x 8 envelope to take this card to allow room for the overhang of the scallop circle.
For ease of positioning Madeleine has used both double sided tape and photo glue in the making of this card but you could just use double sided tape if you want to.
You need a Grand Calibur or other A4 die cutting machine to make this card.

Using double sided tape, glue the 2 148mm x 148mm square cards together by overlapping the front of one card with the back of the other just inside the crease line. This will give you a 3 sided card with a left, centre, and right 148mm square.
From the Stardream Vista paper cut two squares each 148mm x 148mm. Using the 6 x 6 Elegant Frame embossing folder run the Stardream Vista paper through the die cutting machine. Using photo glue, glue one embossed sheet to the outside of the flap that will become the top (easel) part of the card and the other to the inside bottom of the card. Leave to dry.
Tip: make sure that the paper does not touch the crease of the card - it should lie along but not over the crease otherwise the card will be difficult to fold together once it's made.
Using the second largest of the second largest of the Grand Nestabilities Scallop Circles and the green and white backing card from the topper set run the card and die through the die cutting machine.
Push out the mermaid topper and glue it into position on the die cut scallop edge card using photo glue. Leave to dry.
Cut a piece of the green and white edge of the topper sheet to measure 148mm long. Attach this to the bottom of the easel card using 3D foam tape approximately 75mm from the bottom edge.
Push out the two small round toppers and the Happy Birthday shell topper. Attach to the bottom of the easel card using photo glue and leave to dry.
Attach the scallop circle to the top (easel flap) of the card using double sided tape.
