Card Making Project - Embossed Hearts Wedding Invitation
Made by Madeleine

This card uses the M-Bossabilities hearts embossing folder, 2 ribbons place together one on top of the other, and a die cut foiled wedding invitation. Madeleine has used white and gold as the theme but the colours can be easily changed by using different coloured ribbon, foiled wording, and ink to suit your theme.

You will need a die cutting machine for this project.

To make this card you will need:

2 x A4 Smooth Bright White 270gsm Card
Die Cut Wedding Words Gold on Smooth Bright White
Shapeabilities Ribbon Buckles
M-Bossabilities 5 x 7 Hearts
Die Cutting Machine - Cuttlebug, Big Shot or Grand Calibur
Encore Metallic Ink Cube - Gold
15mm wide Organdie Ribbon
Ivory Heart Edge Organdie Ribbon
5mm Self Adhesive Pearls
Photo Glue
3D Double Sided Foam Pads 10mm Square
5mm Double Sided Fingerlift Tape
Didi Glue Dots
Rotary Trimmer or Craft Knife, Ruler and Cutting Mat
EaziScore or Hougie Board
Sharp pair of Scissors

The best way of cutting and creasing the card the card depends on whether you are using the EaziScore or the Hougie Board.

For the EaziScore, place the A4 card on the board and score down the middle (this is the A4 half fold line) and then trim the folded card to 5inches x 7inches (127mm x 178mm).

If using the Hougie board then trim the card first to 10inches x 7inches (254mm x 178mm) and then score down the middle using the inches side of the board.

From the second sheet of Smooth Bright White card cut a piece that measure 5 x 7 inches (127mm x 178mm). Using the hearts embossing folder run it through your die cutting machine. If you aren't using a Grand Calibur machine see here for the correct combination of plates to use with M-Bossabilities in the Big Shot or Cuttlebug.

Using the gold ink pad, ink all around the edges of the embossed card and leave to dry.

Take the heart ribbon buckle die and a spare piece of Smooth Bright White card and run the die once through the die cutting machine to cut and then again to emboss. The combination of plates for the cutting and embossing operation varies with each machine and you'll find the correct combination of plates here should you need them.

Using the gold ink pad, ink all around the edges of the die cut heart. Leave to dry.

Take a length of the gold organdie ribbon and the ivory ribbon with hearts. Place the ivory ribbon with hearts on top of the gold ribbon. Thread the ribbon through the heart ribbon buckle. Using sharp scissors cut off any hearts on the heart ribbon that appear inside the buckle.

Attach 3 Didi glue dots to the back of the heart buckle and wind the ribbon around the hearts embossed card, sticking the buckle down as you do so. Secure the ribbon at the back of the embossed card using double sided tape.

Glue the embossed hearts card to the front of the creased card using photo glue.

Ink the edge of the die cut gold foiled Wedding Invitation using gold ink. Attach to the front of the card using 3D foam pads.

Finally, add a 5mm pearl to the bottom centre of the heart buckle.
