Card Making Project - Birdcage Wedding Invitation
Made by Jacqui

This pretty wedding invitation is made using Stardream Quartz and Stardream Amethyst card. The colour of the card can be changed to reflect the bride's colour scheme. Although from the outside this looks just like an A6 card when the card is opened it reveals a secret pocket that holds the RSVP card.

You need a die cutting machine to make this card.

To make this card you will need:

A4 Stardream Quartz Card
A4 Stardream Amethyst Card
12mm Lace - Ivory
Spellbinders Shapeabilities Bird Sanctuary
Die Cutting Machine - Cuttlebug, Big Shot or Grand Calibur
Wedding/Evening Invitation/RSVP Peel Offs in Silver
Corner Rounder Punch
5mm Double Sided Tape
Photo Glue
Scoring Board such as the EaziScore
White A6 Insert Paper

Cut the Stardream Quartz card to measure 148mm x 263mm. Score from one side of the Quartz card to A6 then turn and score to A6 gatefold, you will now have an A6 card and a pocket.  Glue both the sides of the pocket using photo glue. Weigh down the sides of the pocket until the glue dries.
The EaziScore is the better board to use when making this card as it has the A5 half lines and A5 gatefold lines marked on the board.

Cut a rectangle of the Stardream Amethyst to 114mm x 92mm (this will snugly take the Quartz large birdcage die cut). Round the corners of the Amethyst card using the corner rounder punch.

Using the left over Stardream Quartz card and the large birdcage die run through your die cutting machine once to cut and then, changing plates, once again to emboss.  Round the corners of the Stardream Amethyst card.

Thread a length of the lace through the birdcage as though weaving, leaving enough to wrap around the Amethyst card. Using photo glue, and applying it to the Stardream Quartz card only avoiding the threaded lace, glue the birdcage die onto the Stardream Amethyst card and secure the lace at the back with a little double sided tape. Using photo glue mount these onto the front of the creased card.

Snip the peel offs with sharp scissors to separate the Wedding from the Invitation and attach to the card.

Make the coordinating RSVP card to go into the pocket.  Using the remaining piece of Stardream Quartz card make a small postcard, approximately 122mm x  92mm, to fit the pocket. Using the Amethyst make a matt measuring 106mm x 74mm. Using the corner rounder punch, round each corner of the Stardream Quartz and Amethyst cards. Place the RSVP peel offs at the top of the Stardream Quartz card then mount the Stardream Amethyst onto the Quartz card using photo glue. Print the RSVP details onto a sheet of the insert paper (you should be able to get 4 to a sheet). Cut to size, then round the corners and glue to the Stardream Amethyst card.

Print off the insert with the wedding details and attach to the inside of the A6 card using 5mm double sided tape.
