Card Making Project - Butterflies and Bouquets Striped Card

This card uses the Kanban A Walk in the Garden Paper Pad and the Kanban Butterflies and Bouquets card toppers. The glittered striped card from the paper pack is mounted onto the card in 2 different ways to create an eye catching effect.
Mary has used striped card mounted on Jupiter Stardream pearlescent card and then coordinated the red of the Stardream Jupiter with the red double sided satin ribbon, and red Kanban Bling 5mm gems.
Please note that if you are looking at the toppers and not finding an exact match on the topper sheet, Mary has confessed to doctoring the image, using markers to change the colour of the butterfly's wings and some of the flowers to bring the red colour theme into the image and then adding gold accents using a gel pen. This stage is entirely optional - if you aren't confident of your colouring skills simply leave this bit out.

To make this card you will need:

Score the A4 white linen card down the centre to create an A5 creased card.
Addng the Striped Card Borders
Using one of the glitter stripes page from the Walk in the Garden pad cut 2 pieces each measuring 25mm x 148mm. Using photo glue, glue one piece about 12mm from the top of the card and one piece about 12mm from the bottom of the card. Add a gold straight border peel off just above the striped card at the top of the card and another one just below the striped card at the bottom of the card.
Creating the Cental Mount
Cut a piece of Stardream Jupiter card 6mm larger than the size of the left over piece of striped card. Glue the striped card in the centre of the Stardream Jupiter card using photo glue. Place gold narrow borders peel offs around the edges of the striped card.
Add 3 red Kanban Bling gems to the bottom left and upper right hand corners of the striped card. Using 3D foam pads 3mm thick attach the card to the centre of the creased card.
The Optional Bit
Using the fired brick and aged mahogany distress markers, colour the wing tips of the butterfly and the orange flowers blending the 2 colours to give a more realistic effect.
When the colour is dry, add dots of gold to the red flowers, on the body and the pale lemon wings of the butterfly, and in the centre of the white flower using the gold gel pen.
Completing the Card
Using 3D foam pads 1mm thick attach the card topper in the centre of the striped card mount.
Take a small length of 15mm wide ribbon and knot it then attach to the left of the mount with mini glue dots.
