Using an 198 x 198mm white card trim the backing sheet with Butterflies from the Rose Garden Pretty Papers Bloc to 198mm x 50mm to create the border. Select the Apple Blossom Sheet from the same pad as your main backing paper and trim 12mm from the bottom of the paper to give you a piece measuring 148mm x 198mm. Use photo glue to fix both papers in place on the front of the card. Using photo glue provides sufficient time to place paper in correct position before it dries. Cut a length of Gold Mirror card to measure 6mm x 198mm and glue it to the card so that it covers the join of the two papers. Fix a border peel off from the gold Fancy Corners and Fine Borders peel off sheet on the right hand side of the gold mirror card for effect.
The Topper consists of a the smaller squares from the Anja Large Squares Die. Select the two smallest dies and run then through the die cutting machine using Stardream Lagoon paper. Take the larger of the two diecuts and, changing plates, run it through the die cutting machine using the Swiss Dots embossing folder. Embossing the paper will thicken it and make a better base for the topper you are creating.
Add gold corner peel offs to each corner of the larger embossed die cut and attach it to the card using 3D foam pads then, using another foam pad place the smaller die cut in the centre. Take a white flower from the Spring Blossoms flower pack and place a cluster of five 3mm pink self adhesive gems from the Pastels Set in the centre of the flower. Attach the flower to the centre of the die cuts using a mini glue dot.
Using a spare piece of lagoon paper run the Memory Box Pippi Butterfly Die through the die cutting machine. Glue the body of the butterfly to the wings and then glue to the top left of the card. was used for Butterfly in same colour as Topper and attached to top left of card. 3 small pink Gems were used to decorate the body of the butterfly.
To add a lovely touch to cards, carry your colour or pattern scheme through to your inserts. Your “different” card will stand out from the rest. Handy Tip – If you are going to have a very ornate front which has 3D elements, then do your insert first. Nothing worse than working on a card insert that has bumps on the front!
