Card Making Project - Blue Bird and Lilac Roses Card

.Mary has made this sophisticated card in blues and creams then added lilac roses - not a hint of pink anywhere so should please those ladies who feel that pink is too "girlie" (yes, there are some!) Birds are really popular at the moment and this card uses 2 sheets of blue birds on cream background from the Marianne Rose Garden A5 Paper Pad. Just ensure that the top layer, creating the main picture on the card, has only one bird towards the centre on it before you cut it.
You need a die cutting machine to make this card.

To make this card you will need:

Take one of the sheets of blue bird and cream paper from the Marianne Rose Garden paper pad and place onto front of the card using photo glue. Run some silver narrow border peels offs about 5mm in from the edge of the card to create a border.
Using the Stardream Sapphire card run it through your die cutting machine using the large fancy edge square and the small plain edge square from the Marianne Creatables Anja's Squares set. Take the second sheet of blue bird on cream paper and, using either a rotary trimmer or scissors, cut one piece to measure 185mm x 185mm and another piece to measure 45mm x 45mm. Before cutting ensure that the smaller square has a single blue bird surrounded only by flowers towards the centre of the piece being cut.
Build up the layers on the upper centre of the card using 3D foam tape as follows:
Larger Stardream Sapphire die cut square onto card front then place a pale blue self adhesive gem at each corner.
Larger Blue Bird on Cream paper square.
Smaller Stardream Sapphire die cut square placing a pale blue self adhesive gem at each corner.
Smaller Larger Blue Bird on Cream paper square.
Using mini glue dots position and stick down each of the two lilac roses.
Take a small piece of the Europa Ivory card and the tag die from the Spellbinders Card Creator Tranquil Moments and run it through the die cutting machine once to cut then, changing plates, run it through again to emboss. Colour the embossed centre of the tag with Chipped Sapphire distress ink. Leave a little while for the ink to dry. Add the sentiment "Happy Birthday" from the peel off sheet to the centre of the tag and place a 3mm pale blue self adhesive gem at either side of the peel off wording.
