Card Making Project - Baby Boy Decoupage Card
Made by Madeleine
This 6 x 6 inch (148 x 148mm) square sweet baby card for a baby boy combines a sweet backing paper from the Marianne Design Hello Sweet Baby paper pad, die cut decoupage, and die cuts using Marianne Creatables dies. It's an easy card to make.
You'll find there's a similar sheet of paper in the Marianne Design paper pack in pink and the decoupage is available in pink too so you can make the same card for a baby girl.
You need a die cutting machine to make this card.

Take a sheet of the blue gingham paper with the dark cream heart decoration at the top of the page from the Marianne Hello Sweet Baby paper block. Trim 62mm from the bottom of the sheet to give you a piece measuring 148 x 148mm. Glue this to the front of the card using photo glue and leave to dry.
Push out the smaller decoupage picture and the two pieces that build up the 3D design from the die cut decoupage sheet. Build up the decoupage and vary the height by using 2mm thick 3D foam pads on the first layer of the baby and 3mm thick 3D foam pads on the second layer of the soft toy rabbit. Attach the built up decoupage to the right hand side of the card - about 10mm from the edge of the card - using photo glue.
Using smooth bright white card run through the die cutting machine with the Baby word from the Marianne Creatables Baby and Pin set and the bow from the Baby's Bib set.
As the Baby word is a cutting only die at this stage you can remove the card from the die but leave the card in the bow die as this is a cut and emboss die. Change plates and run the bow through the die cutting machine again to emboss it.
Using either a Quickie Glue Pen or photo glue attach the Baby word and bow to the front of the card. Leave for the glue to dry.
Madeleine used photo glue for quickness but applying photo glue to a die cut as intricate as wording can be messy and,. as she had to clear up the glue from the work bench and rub off the excess glue from the wording once the glue had dried on the card, much time probably saved in the long run. Choose the method you are most comfortable with.
