Card Making Project - Die Cut Wedding Day Card - Anja's Squares
Made by Madeleine
Marianne Creatables Anja's Squares is one of the best selling of the Marianne dies and one of Madeleine's favourites. This wedding day card is created from Stardream Crystal and Smooth Marine Blue card with the addition of a Marianne topper that perfectly fits the centre of the design.
Did you know that the small square die in the Anja's Square set is perfect for cutting out many of the smaller of the Marianne toppers on a few of the Marianne Topper sheets including the Get Well Soon sheet as well as the Bride toppers?
We're sure any bride would be delighted with this card. To add the personal touch, why don't you have a go at making it in the bride's wedding colours?
You need a die cutting machine to make this card.

From one of the A4 sheets of Stardream Crystal cut a piece to measure 140 x 280mm then crease it down the centre to create a 140 x 140mm square card.
If using the EaziScore you may find it easier to crease the card first to A5 then trim it to 140 x 140mm. The Carl RT-200 rotary trimmer, which Madeleine uses, easily cuts through a double thickness of Stardream card.
Cut a piece of the marine blue smooth card slight larger than the largest die in the Anja's Squares set; a piece of Stardream Crystal Card slightly largest than the second largest die; and another piece of smooth marine blue card slightly larger than the intricate pattern die.
Run the largest die through the die cutting machine with the marine blue card. This die only cuts - it doesn't emboss so you only need to run it through the once.
Run the second largest die through the die cutting machine with the Stardream Crystal card once to cut and then, changing plates, a second time to emboss.
Placing wax paper between the intricate die and the marine blue card run it through the die cutting machine. Check to see if it has cut properly throughout the pattern.
Intricate dies, such as this one, often need to be run through the die cutting machine a few times to ensure that all the pieces have been cut. In making this card the die was given a quarter turn and then run through the die cutting machine again and then another quarter turn and run through again. Check the card after each pass through the die cutting machine and repeat the process until it can be seen that all pieces are cut.
Once cut, change plates and run through the die cutting machine again to emboss.
Cut out the small Marianne bride topper roughly following the lines on the sheet - this doesn't need to be exact as the topper will be die cut. Using the smallest square die from the Anja's Squares set run the die and topper once through the die cutting machine to cut.
Layer up the die cut card as follows:
Large marine blue die cut in the centre of the creased card using photo glue.
Stardream Crystal die cut on top using 3D foam tape
Intricate die cut onto Stardream Crystal die cut using photo glue
Die cut bride topper in the centre of the marine blue die cut.
All that's needed now are the finishing touches. A pearl heart was placed in the bottom right corner of the card topper and a pearl scroll in the top left corner of the topper. The pearl scroll is made from the heart with scroll bead by taking just the right hand side of the scroll at the bottom of the heart and cutting it off.
