Card Making Project - Wedding Invitation Anja's Border 1

Create a lovely wedding invitation using the Anja's border.  We've made two - for this one the border is on the side - for the other has the border at the top. Gold die cut Wedding Words in gold on Europa Ivory card gives this invitation a professional look.  The creased card and die cut is on Europa Ivory too - Madeleine teamed it with Stardream Lagoon but you can just adapt it to your own colour scheme.

When calculating the amount of card needed, Madeleine got the creased card out of one sheet of A4 Europa Ivory and could get two of the die cut card fronts out of the second sheet so 3 sheets would be needed for every 2 invitations.  Two pieces of the backing card for mounting the die cut and two scrolls can be made from one sheet of the Stardream Lagoon so calculate 1 sheet of A4 card for every 2 invitations.

You need a die cutting machine to make this card.
To make this card you will need:

A4 Europa Ivory Card x 2
A4 Stardream Lagoon Card
Die Cut Wedding Words - Gold Foil on Europa Ivory
Die Cutting Machine such as the Cuttlebug or Big Shot
Marianne Creatables Anja's Border
Marianne Creatables Frame LR0116
Photo Glue
3D Foam Tape 1mm Thick
Low Tack Masking Tape
Rotary Trimmer or Craft Knife, Cutting Mat and ruler.
EaziScore or other scoring board


Cut a piece of the Europa Ivory card to 148 wide from the A4 sheet and crease down the middle (this is the A4 half fold line on the EaziScore).

Cut a piece of Stardream Lagoon card to 133 x 135mm and a piece of Europa Ivory card to 135 x 135mm.
The reason that the Stardream Lagoon, although the same measurement in height as the Europa Ivory card, is 2mm less in width is because the piece of Europa Ivory cared will lose 2mm when being die cut and the two pieces should be an exact fit..

Using a couple of small pieces of low tack masking tape at either end to hold the die in place, place the die on the piece of Europa Ivory card so that the top point of the die is at the edge of the card.  Run it through the die cutting machine to cut.  Carefully remove the masking tape but make sure the card does not move out of the die. Changing plates, run it through the die cutting machine again to emboss.

Using photo glue, position the die cut Europa Ivory onto the Stardream Lagoon card and leave to dry.

Select the larger of the two swirls from the Marianne Frame set and run through the die cutting machine with a spare piece of the Stardream Lagoon card.  This die only cuts - it doesn't emboss - so you need to only run it through once.

Using photo glue position and glue down first the gold wedding word and then the Stardream Lagoon swirl.  Leave to dry.

Apply double sided foam tape to the back of the lagoon card and fix into position on the Europa Ivory creased card leaving an even border.
