Card Making Project - Shades of Blue Flower Card
Made by Madeleine
Pastel blues, in the Bellisima background paper and die cut mount, combine with the turquoise of the Kaisercraft Sea Breeze blooms in this pretty card with its lacy accents.
The lace edge of the die cut reflects the delicate white die cut reflects the delicate lace pattern of the background paper as does the Marianne tulle ribbon used to make the delicate bow.
The die used for the mount is the Aurora die from the Create a Card range by Die'sire. This is the centrepiece that is left over from cutting the aperture for the Aurora Pin Wheel card project. In case you want to make this card first, the instructions include the cutting and embossing of the mount. However, if you have already made this project then you will have the centrepiece to hand can miss out the first instructions referring to the cutting of the paper.
You need a die cutting machine to make this card.

The Background of the Card
Take a sheet of the blue paper with the lace effect print on the edges from the Bellisima paper pack and cover the front of your card using photo glue.
Making the Die Cuts
The Inner Blue Circle
Take a sheet of the pale blue with floral corner background paper and trim it to 148mm x 148mm. Using the Aurora die from the Card Creator range by Die'sire, run the die once through the die cutting machine to cut. Put the main piece with the aperture to one side but leave the centrepiece in the die. Change plates or increase the number on the dial (depending on which die cutting machine you are using) and run the centrepiece through the die cutting machine again to emboss it.
If you have already made the Aurora Pin wheel card making project you will already have the centre piece cut out and will just need to pop it back in the die to emboss it.
The Outer White Circle
To cut the lacy mount from the smooth bright white card Madeleine used two of the Nestabilities Majestic Circles together - the largest of the cut out dies and the largest of the inset dies. Line the two dies up on the smooth bright white card and use some low tack masking tape to hold the dies in place. Run the card and dies through the die cutting machine once to cut and then, changing plates, or increasing the number on the dial, run through again to emboss.
Beginner's Tip: even low tack masking tape can be a bit tacky so use the back of your hand to remove the excess tackiness before placing the masking tape on your card.
Glue the blue paper die cut to the centre of the white card die cut using photo glue. Attach to the upper centre of the card using 3D foam pads.
The Sentiment
Run the Happy Birthday die through the die cutting machine once to cut (this die does not emboss) and adhere the wording to the bottom centre of the card using photo glue.
Adding the Embellishments
Take a length of the Marianne Design white tulle and fold it until you have 4 layers. Wrap the stem of one of the Kaisercraft Blooms around the centre of the tulle so that it forms a bow with the flower in the centre. Attach to the centre of the mount using mini glue dots on both the tulle and the flower.
