Vintage Decoration Dandelion Card
Made by Madeleine

This card uses the Marianne Creatables Vintage Decoration die at both sides of the card that the stamped image is mounted on.  It does mean that you have to run the die and paper four times through the machine to cut and emboss it but the finished effect is worth it.

The card is made as a tent card, that is, with the crease along the top.  Madeleine has used white card for the card blank and mounted the Stardream Mars to the front of the card.  Not only is it more economical to do this but it also adds weight to the front of the card.  Tent cards sometimes have a habit of sliding down when displayed - the weight at the front of the card minimises the chance of this.

This card can be used for most occasions such as birthday, thinking of you, or as a get well card.

You need a die cutting machine to make this card.

Cut the Stardream Mars card to measure 148mm x 210mm and glue it to the front of the card blank using photo glue.

Cut the card for the stamped image and mounts as follows:

Smooth bright white card to 50mm x 100mm
Stardream Opal card to 60mm x 110mm
A piece of the left over Stardream Mars card to 68mm x 118mm

Using the gold inkpad run it down both sides and the top and bottom of the Stardream Opal mount.  Because Stardream is a pearlescent card you will get an light antique gold finish.  Put to one side for the ink to dry.

Stamp the image in the centre of the smooth bright white card.  Cover the image with the gold embossing powder and shake off the excess.  Apply a heat gun to the embossing powder until the powder melts and is slightly risen.  Leave to cool.

Cut a piece of the remaining smooth bright white card to 175mm x 125mm. Place the Anja's Vintage Decoration die close to the side edge so that the top of the die is flush with the edge and the sides of the die can just be seen on the edge of the card.  Run it through the die cutting machine once to cut and then again, changing plates or adjusting the dial, to emboss.  Repeat this on the other side of the card.

Mount the white vintage decoration die cut on the front of the card so that it is centred using photo glue.

Using photo glue, mount the dandelion image card onto the inked Opal card and then onto the Mars card leaving an even border all around at each stage.  Finally position and glue down in the centre of the vintage decoration edge on the card.

Place a short border peel off across the top left and bottom right corners and trim with scissors so it is flush with the card.
