Layered Bluebell Card
Made by Madeleine
This card is a simple card to make using papers from the 6 x 6 Bluebell paper pack that are simply mattered and layered.
This card is suitable for a beginner just follow the cutting instructions and you will see how easy it is to make a 3D card.
Although the daisies and butterflies are die cut you could just as easily use two sizes of daisy punches and a large butterfly punch if you don't have a die cutting machine.

Making the Card Topper
Take the butterfly design paper with the little deer in the corner and cut 55mm off the bottom of the sheet. Trim 55mm of the left hand side of the piece you have cut from the bottom of the sheet. This will give you the picture of the little deer and butterfly measuring 55mm x 55mm.
Cut a piece of Stardream Sapphire card to measure 67mm x 67mm.
Cut a piece of Stardream Amethyst paper to measure 60mm x 60mm
Using photo glue, glue the Amethyst square to the sapphire card and then glue the deer picture on top. At each stage ensure there is an even border all around.
If you are just beginning to make cards you'll find photo glue the best glue to use for sticking card to card or paper to card as it is repositionable for several seconds until the glue starts to dry so if you don't get things lined up on the first attempt you've plenty of time to wiggle the paper until you do.
Put the card topper to one side.
Matting and Layering the Background
Cut a piece of Stardream Sapphire card to measure 173mm x 173mm and glue to the front of your card using photo glue.
Cut a piece of Stardream Amethyst paper to measure 163mm x 163mm and glue to the front of the card leaving an even border all around.
Take the large piece of butterfly paper left over from making the card topper and cut a piece of the bottom so that the finished length is 90mm. This will give you a piece 152mm x 90mm. Glue this onto the card leaving a 6mm border at the top and each side using photo glue.
Cut a piece off the purple flower card so that the finished size is 152mm x 70mm. Using photo glue, glue it to the card so that there is a border of 6mm at the bottom and both sides of the card.
Note that the top of the purple flower paper will overlap the bottom of the butterfly paper slightly when glues to the card.
Adding the Ribbon Panel
Cut a piece of Stardream Sapphire card to 152mm x 35mm.
Take a piece of the bluebell patterned paper and cut 35mm off the bottom to give a piece measuring 152mm x 35mm. Glue to the piece of Stardream Sapphire card of the same size.
Take a length of 7mm wide white satin ribbon and, using 5mm double sided tape attach to the 152mm x 35mm card about 5mm from the top. Tie the ribbon in a knot at the left hand side and trim off any excess.
Repeat this with another length of white ribbon placing it about 7mm from the bottom of the piece of card.
Using Pinflair glue or 1mm thick 3D foam pads place the ribbon trimmed card across the card where the 2 different patterned paper join.
Adding the Topper and Embellishments
Using Pinflair glue or 3D foam pads 3mm thick attach the topper you made earlier to the upper right of the card so that it just overlaps the ribbon panel.
Die cut or punch 2 larger and 2 smaller daisies using the polka dot paper from the pack. Attach the smaller daisy to the larger one using a little photo glue in the centre of the larger daisy and twisting them so that the petals show on both sizes of daisy. Place a button in the centre of each of the flowers using a memory book glue dot. Attach the flowers to the card using either Pinflair glue or memory book glue dots.
Take the blue and green paper from the pack and die cut or punch the butterfly. Attach to the right hand side of the ribbon panel
Peel off the birthday greeting and place it at the bottom centre of the card.
