Lilies Sympathy Card

A personal, hand made sympathy card shows you care.  Sympathy cards should be elegant simplicity and Linda has caught the mood perfectly in this off white and white card made with Marianne Design  and Spellbinder dies.


You need a die cutting machine to make this card.
The instructions for cutting the dies assume you are using a Big Shot or Cuttlebug - if you are using an Xcut Xpress or a Big Shot Plus you should be able to run all the dies through at the same time.

To make this card you will need:


Card and Paper:

2 Sheets of A4 Stardream Quartz 285gsm Card
Stardream Emerald Card
Stardream Opal Card

Die Cutting Machine such as the XCut Xpress, Cuttlebug or Big Shot

Spellbinder Nestabilities Decorative Labels Eight

Stamps
Stamps by Chloe - Deepest Sympathy and Thinking of You Set
Encore Metallic Gold Ink Cube or Versamark Inkpad
Embossing Powder Gold Jewel
Rock-a Block Set or 76mm x 100mm Acrylic Block



Glues
Photo Glue
Pinflair Glue or 3D Foam Pads 1mm Thick and 3mm Thick

Scoring Board such as the EaziScore


Take one of the sheets of A4 Stardream Quartz card and cut it to 148mm x 297mm.  Crease it down the middle (A4 half fold line on the EaziScore) to make a 148mm x 148mm square card.

Stamping the Sympathy Sentiment

Mount the stamp onto the acrylic block and apply the ink.  Stamps the sentiment just above the bottom of the card.  Shake the embossing powder on to the stamped sentiment and shake off the excess.  Heat with the heat tool until the embossing powder melts and changes colour.

Creating the Die Cuts

Cur a piece of the Stardream Quartz card slightly larger than the die from the Decorative Nestabilities Labels Eight set and a piece of opal card slightly larger than the Tiny's Lily die and run through the die cutting machine once to cut and then, changing plates, once again to emboss.  Snip the stalks from the Tiny's lily die cut leaving only the flowers.

Using both the large and small ivy corners dies and the Tiny's lily die with the Stardream Emerald card run them through the die cutting machine once to cut and then again, changing plates, to emboss.

Putting the Card Together

Either apply a little Pinflair glue or attach 3D foam pads 1mm thick to the back of the decorative labels eight die cut and place in the upper centre of the card centering it above the stamped sentiment.  

Using a little photo glue on a piece of acetate, swirl onto the back of the Stardream Emerald Tiny's lily die cut. letting any excess glue drip off, and place on the decorative labels eight mount. Apply photo glue in the same way to the flower heads and glue in place.

Using the remaining photo glue, swirl the small ivy corner and glue to the bottom right corner of the card.

Apply either dots of Pinflair glue or 3D foam pads 3mm thick to the large ivy corner and place in the top left corner of the card.
